Boris

Joey and I bought a dog, and when I say bought, I mean we got a puppy for free. Who says nothing good ever comes for free; look at this cute little guy:

And I told you to be patient
And I told you to be fine
And I told you to be balanced
And I told you to be kind

I feel content today. I don't know how I managed it, but I am right where I want to be in life.

I love surprises. . .

I rearranged the kitchen = 1st surprise
and put this note on the window. . .
so that he could find his 2nd surprise:
(we are brewing apricot beer right now and want to try all the apricot beers so we know where ours stands)

What a relief!

Today was my last day ever at the U! It's a bit unreal/happy/sad.
It's kind of sad that next time I step foot on campus it wont be as a student. . . but at the same time I am so happy that my days of test-taking are behind me!

Now I am officially selling my soul to the workforce.
I only hope that I find a sense of fulfillment in whatever I do.

Hello old friend. . .

It's been a while.

Things that I enjoyed about today:

Watercolors and old friends in backyards with strung lights.

Watching the sun set with my window rolled down as the summer storm rolled in.
(listening to Bon Iver Skinny Love!!)

And it always makes me happy when I see strangers helping strangers push their broken down car to safety.

I'm still missing you!

Remember to show your friends and family all of your love and tell them how much they mean to you.

I'll never forget my heart dropping to the floor when I heard the news about Keegan, and I'll never stop feeling like I could have prevented his suicide by just asking him if he was OK rather than assuming that he'd eventually come around. I miss my buddy all the time now!

RIP Keegan

Just a reminder

Habits that I've broken over the years and would like to get back into:

Being courteous and thankful often, especially to those people I take for granted
Talking more with friends, classmates, coworkers and really listening
Being patient with myself and others
Taking lots of pictures of friends and family
Being diligent about cleaning up after myself

No drinking Soda Pop
Taking it easy on the alcohol consumption
Making healthy diet choices
Doing yoga at least weekly
Going to sleep without the need for the TV to be on

Writing creatively, for fun, not for school
Reading more, for fun, not for school
Crafting more/spending more time being creative

Being fearless and trying new things
Slowing down and enjoying each day
Enjoying the down time

Tasha

I have been watching Natasha this week while he parents are in Poland visiting family with her big sis, Sofie.

She is such a sweet girl and tough too because she hasn't cried once, except for the usual tired baby cries. She's such a happy kid, I love her!

Right after mom and dad left she fell asleep in her swing! So cute.

Last Day

I've worked at the Montessori school for three years and today was my last day!
Joey is a wonderful boyfriend! He sent me flowers, and Diana surprised me with a delicious lunch!

It's been such a big part of my life and I have no idea what my next adventure will be, but I am excited to find out!

Joey and Gracie's reclaimed kitchen table:

Ann is so sweet. She knew that we were looking for a kitchen table and found one for us in the dumpster of her apartment complex. It had white legs and a light wood top. Joey and I cleaned it with lots of bleach then painted it black and left the white tile in the center. Joey's mom happened to be getting rid of her black kitchen chairs and we snagged them. The place mats are sample material from my friend Alison who used to work at an upholstery factory (and I have tons more in different colors and patterns too). The total cost: 13 dollars for painting supplies!

We also found a solution for our lack of counter space and lack of dinero to buy an island or butcher block ( the least expensive ones we could find were still over a hundred dollars).

We bought two ikea coffee tables and stacked them, not bad for 40 bucks!:

And as for our old "kitchen" card table, I now having a sewing table:
